Year 7 News

Vermont Secondary College

Year 7 students at Vermont Secondary College, whether in Stirling, Hotham, or Macedon house, have embarked on an exciting journey filled with various events and activities. From their first step into the school grounds, they eagerly engaged in "Setting Up for Learning Week," where they familiarize themselves with the school's resources and expectations, setting a solid foundation for their academic journey. Amidst their academic pursuits, students enthusiastically participated in the annual school swimming sports, showcasing their swimming prowess and sportsmanship.

On the note of participation and sportsmanship, our Year 7s should be reminded that a variety of opportunities exist for further engagement in the college community. Sign-ups for inter-school sporting teams (such as cricket and volleyball) are located outside the Sport Office, and there are plenty of clubs to sign up for located in our library. Opportunities to demonstrate leadership will soon be presenting themselves in the form of Class Captain applications, which will become available quite soon.

Additionally, a gentle reminder resonates throughout the corridors, signalling the upcoming highlight of their first year: the eagerly anticipated school camp to Camp Marysville, scheduled for this upcoming week. This camp promises to be an unforgettable experience, fostering camaraderie, resilience, and personal growth among the students. As they navigate through these formative experiences, Year 7's at Vermont Secondary College begin to forge lasting friendships, cultivate essential skills, and lay the groundwork for their future success.
