Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
The start of a new school year is always an exciting time, filled with anticipation and the promise of new experiences. It's been wonderful to see our students settling into their routines, making new friends, and eagerly engaging in their lessons.
In Week 8, we will be hosting two exciting days for students!
Harmony Day
On Thursday 21st March, StMM's will host Harmony Day. On this day we celebrate
multiculturalism in our school and in Australia. It is all about inclusiveness, respect and ensuring a sense of belonging for all people. To celebrate this day, we ask that students come dressed in either traditional clothing from their country or dress in orange - the official colour of Harmony Day.
During the day, students will have an opportunity to celebrate their cultural background and learn more about other cultures. On this day, each grade will also participate in a drumming incursion where every child gets to play a drum and experience rhythms from Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Pacific. It will be a wonderful way for students to experience the language of music and its ability to unite people from different parts of the world. To further celebrate this day at home, you might like to try a dish from a different culture for dinner or talk about your own heritage with your children.
Wellbeing Day
On Friday 22nd of March, StMM's will host Wellbeing Day. It is a mufti day and students are asked to bring in Easter Eggs as a donation for our P&F Easter Raffle. During the day, students will participate in different activities that centre around the focus of Wellbeing.
We look forward to celebrating Harmony Day and Wellbeing Day with you in the coming weeks and thank you for your invaluable support.
Warm regards,
