TAS FACULTY

Construction Students Concrete Slab Project

Wyndham HSC Construction students have been hard at work on a special project at the College. Under the guidance of their TAS teachers, students have, over the past few weeks, been preparing and building a concrete slab. This has enhanced our College environment and provided an invaluable hands-on learning experiences for our budding builders.

Project Overview

The construction of a concrete slab required planning, precise execution and a solid understanding of construction principles. Our students embraced this challenge with enthusiasm and determination. At planning sessions, students learned about site preparation and safety protocols and then cleared the designated area, leveled the surface and set up formwork.

Hands-On Learning

Our students have had the valuable opportunity to apply the theoretical concepts learned in the classroom to real-world scenarios, gaining practical skills that will serve them well in their future careers. From measuring and cutting materials to finishing the concrete, every step of the process has been a learning experience, where students have improved their teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills—essential attributes for success in the construction industry.

We thank our Construction students and their teachers for their outstanding efforts and dedication. This project exemplifies the spirit of innovation, creativity, and teamwork that defines our Wyndham community.
