Principal's Report
Welcome back to everyone!
Hopefully the holiday break provided you some time out to rest up and stay warm with the family. I look forward to embracing this term as your school leader and I welcome the opportunity to grow and learn more in the role of Acting Principal. I would also like to acknowledge Mandy Antoniadis (Learner Diversity) and Shelley DeAraugo (Curriculum Leader) who will be accompanying me this term as our school Acting Deputy Principals. Together, they will make a great team and be a fantastic support for the school. I find it ironic that the first newsletter edition under our newly appointed position aligns with the liturgical Gospel reading of the Lost Sheep. Just as the Lord promises Jeremiah to raise up shepherds for the flock, Paul has entrusted us with confidence to continue to serve, protect and nurture you all, and we are delighted to be in service to you ‘our flock’.
Our termly Learning Conversations are scheduled for next week. These conversations are a major part of the assessment and reporting process and I highly encourage you to book an appointment time with your child's classroom teacher, if you haven’t already done so. Our Art teaching team is also very excited, as we will be putting up a F-6 Art Installation in the Rosarium to coincide with Learning Conversations. We encourage you all to visit this space between 2.30pm - 5.45pm if you are on-site on Monday 22nd or Wednesday 24th July.
Term 3 is also a significant part of our enrolment process for 2025, as we hold our Foundation Enrolment Interviews. These are a very valuable opportunity for new and existing families to begin the ‘transition to school’ process and for us to learn a little bit about the children before they start school. Mandy Antoniadis (Learner Diversity) and I will be conducting the interviews during week 4. Booking will be available for Parents to schedule a time via our trybooking system.
The term is full with a variety of activities across Foundation through to Grade 6, so I urge you to read your child's class termly newsletter to ensure you do not miss any important events. In other news, we have a new entrance door to the Grade 1 and 2 classroom space. We could not be happier with the aesthetically pleasing view this now provides. It is fantastic and a big thank you to Paula for organizing this over the holidays as it had not impacted our students. Also, our bus travellers have a new bus which is fitted with seat belts and they must be worn when travelling. Therefore, all children will need to have their seat belt buckled prior to the bus leaving. In addition to this, there is NO food or drinks allowed on the bus including lollipops. Children can eat their food and have their drinks once they are off the bus and have arrived at their stop. Thanks in advance for your support with encouraging our children to follow our school rule of respecting your environment while on the bus.
