Everyone Belongs

Bullying No Way!: National Week of Action

Dear Parents and Carers,

For the first time, the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (or NDA) has expanded into a week-long initiative – now known as Bullying No Way: National Week of Action.

Bullying No Way Week, 12 to 16 August 2024, is Australia’s key bullying prevention initiative and connects schools and communities to find workable solutions to prevent bullying.

Please mark your calendars for Friday, August 16th, formerly known as the National Day Against Bullying and Violence as this is the day that our school will be focusing on some anti-bullying activities. The theme for this day is “Everyone Belongs”. This day highlights the importance of creating a safe and respectful environment for all students.

As it actually runs for the whole week here’s what you can do to help.

How You Can Help:

  1. Speak Up: Encourage children to report bullying. Have conversations during this week about “See something, Say something”.
  2. Be Kind: Promote acts of kindness and inclusion. Discuss as a family what this looks like and what your child can do to show kindness and inclusion.
  3. Stay Informed: Learn the signs of bullying and how to respond.
  4. Create Safe Spaces: Foster open and supportive environments at home and school.

Our school will host activities on this day to raise awareness and promote positive behaviour. Let’s work together to build a community where everyone feels safe and respected.

Thank you,

The Wellbeing Team

Fiona Arthur, Alisha and Sarah
