Education in Faith

Confirmation  & First Eucharist 2024

We are delighted to acknowledge and congratulate year 5 and 6 students who recently made their Confirmation at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. This sacred milestone marks a significant step in their faith journey, as they receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit and deepen their commitment to living as disciples of Christ.

We are incredibly proud of each of them for embracing this important sacrament with a great sense of reverence.

In addition, our Grade 4 children are currently preparing for their First Eucharist. This preparation is a time of great spiritual growth, as they learn more about the significance of the Eucharist in our Catholic faith. We ask our school community to keep these children in their prayers as they eagerly await the moment when they will receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time.

On Friday, we also joyfully celebrate the feast of St. Mary MacKillop, Australia’s first saint, who holds a special place in our hearts here at St. Cecilia’s. Our school was founded by the Josephite nuns, the order established by St. Mary MacKillop herself. Her legacy of compassion, education, and service continues to inspire us. As we honor her feast day, we reflect on her remarkable life and the values she instilled in our community.

May St. Mary MacKillop’s example guide us all as we strive to live out our faith with love, courage, and humility.
