Foundation (Prep-Year 2)
Prep B have had an incredible start to Term 3!
We started our term with NAIDOC week. We learned about acknowledging the country we learn and play on, and have continued this practice through the Jackson School Acknowledgement of Country chant. We celebrated 100 Days of Prep with a party and a reflection of our growth throughout the year. Recently we have been competing in our very own Potato Olympics. Prep B has been competing with potato athletes in events like basketball, bowling, gymnastics, and long jump. We are excited to start our swimming program soon.
Well done Prep B!
Lower Primary (Years 3-4)
2/3A have had a wonderful couple of weeks settling back into the new term. The children created their own pirate hats and went on a special scavenger hunt to find the treasure that was buried deep in the school garden! They are now writing their own pirate stories and we cannot wait to see them when they are finished.
Upper Primary (Years 5-6)
Upper Primary students have had a busy fortnight in maths exploring the unit of measurement, length. They have been measuring different items in the classroom using different items such as blocks, paper clips and pop sticks. They have made paper aeroplanes and measured the length of their throw. Some classes have been participating in the Potato Olympics, designing their athlete and entering it into events including diving, shotput, gymnastics and distance. Students have continued with their regular Tuesday afternoon fitness session, choosing from soccer, tennis or hip-hop dancing.
