As we reach the midpoint of Term Three, it's clear that Middle School at SCC has been buzzing with activity. With the continued dedication of our wonderful staff, there's still much more in store to support the holistic development of our students.
Year 7 Excursion to Perth Zoo
Our Year 7 students had an enriching experience at Perth Zoo, where they showcased exemplary attitudes and behaviour while engaging with the public. Their conduct was a true reflection of the values we uphold at SCC, representing our College with pride and distinction.
Career Taster Program for Year 9
A select group of Year 9 students participated in another session of the Career Taster Program, an initiative aimed at helping our young people explore future career paths that align with their God-given talents and interests. This program continues to be an invaluable opportunity for our students to focus on their futures.
Leadership in Action at the MacKillop House Day
It’s always rewarding to see our students embrace leadership roles. During the recent House Day, students rose to the challenge, leading activities and reading at the whole school event. The gathering of both primary and secondary students exemplifies one of the key strengths of our Pre-K to 10 College—a collaborative and nurturing learning environment.
Year 8 Retreat to New Norcia
The Year 8 Retreat to New Norcia was a memorable and meaningful day for both students and staff. The visit to the historical sites associated with Dom Salvado offered a profound connection to the legacy of the remarkable individual after whom our school is named. This experience, along with the Assumption Liturgies, reinforced our shared faith and the reverence we hold as a Catholic School.
Celebrating Science Week
Science Week was a highlight, offering numerous opportunities for students to engage in hands-on activities that broadened their knowledge and passion for science. The enthusiasm and curiosity displayed by our students exemplify their willingness to embrace and make the most of the learning opportunities provided to them.
Looking Ahead: Year 9 Electives for 2025
Soon, Year 8 students and their parents/caregivers will receive information about elective choices for the upcoming academic year. We encourage all families to discuss these options thoroughly to ensure that decisions are made with the students' educational best interests at heart.
Upcoming Event: John Bosco Sporting Challenge
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, 4th September (Week 8) at 4pm, when we host the John Bosco College Year 9/10 Soccer and Netball teams for our home fixture. We encourage everyone to come out and support our teams, cheer them on, and enjoy what promises to be an exciting and competitive event!
