VOCABULARY

Summary - a brief recollection or account of the main points in a text. It typically excludes excessive or needless details, remaining short and to the point.

Informative Text - non-fiction texts that give information on particular subjects.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Ask your child to read the following informative text and help them

1. Identify the main idea of the text

2. Identify important ideas and information in the text and organise them into summary form.
