John XXIII Rowing Club
Dear Families
On Saturday, 27 July, the Champion Lakes Regatta Centre was abuzz with excitement as the Swan River Rowing Club hosted the All Schools Regatta 3. This event was the first regatta since the SWS Head of the River, where our boys and girls squads united to compete for John XXIII College.
Our rowers took on the challenge with determination and skill. For most of the day, John XXIII held the top position on the medal table. Ultimately, we finished third with an impressive eight gold medals, trailing just behind Swan River with 10 and Guildford with nine gold medals.
However, when considering all podium finishes, John XXIII emerged as the leader with a total of 30.25 medals. This remarkable achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of our rowing team.
The next challenge for our outstanding team will be the All Schools State Championships, hosted by UWA Boat Club, on Saturday, 10 August at Champion Lakes. This final regatta of the season will feature our Year 10s and Senior rowers competing in heats to qualify for finals, while our Year 9s will race for medals in their respective divisions.
We invite the entire John XXIII community to come down and support our united rowing team as they strive to bring home the All Schools Champion School Trophy for the first time since 2019. Let's cheer them on and celebrate their dedication and team spirit!
