Visitors from 'I Wish' School:

We are privileged to welcome 12 students and five teachers from the "I Wish" school in China. These children are wonderful ambassadors for their school—they are positive, warm, friendly, keen to make friends and engage, and very well organized and cared for.

Our Western Heights children made them feel welcome and supported right from the beginning. I am proud of the wonderful job they have done in making sure our visitors feel they belong here.

Lots of photos and videos have been sent back to China, and the parents are delighted to see how happy and engaged their children are. It has created a real buzz back home, and lots of parents want to send their children either for the first time or to come back again. Already, 20 children are confirmed for next year's visit.

Because the group has an excellent mix of ages, we are able to spread children across our classrooms, so there is no real additional load for teachers.

We are being paid for their visit, and those funds will go towards improving our physical environment in ways that will benefit all children and staff here. We are very grateful for this because it is a bonus. We know our children benefit from learning how to be great hosts to overseas visitors and about life, customs, and culture in China.
