Week 4 Term 2

School Tours - 2025 Foundation Enrolments

Thank you to the very knowledgeable, articulate and confident Year 5/6 students who conducted School Tours over the past few weeks. We take great pride in having our Year 5/6 students take these tours as they represent our school's welcoming culture and values.

Synthetic Turf Repairs

We are excited to share that the tripping hazards and damaged synthetic turf will be repaired next week. These repairs are being funded through some of the money raised through the Great Lee Street Fete. We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated school community that works tirelessly to ensure the fete is a success each and every year so that we can use these fundraising dollars to provide exemplar teaching and learning and to beautify our school.

2024-2025 Victorian State Budget Announcement

Please see the letter below from the Minister for Education regarding funding Carlton North Primary School through the School Upgrade Delivery Fund.

Congratulations to the CNPS School Council and the Building Upgrade Working Party for all your hard work and dedication to secure this funding. This is exciting news and we look forward to being funded $897,000 for 2024/2025 with a remaining $7.174 million and an estimated completion date qtr 1 2026-2027.

Inclusion Outreach Coach at CNPS

We would love to welcome Ashlie Hassal to CNPS. Ashlie is an Inclusion Outreach Coach (IOC) based at a Special Development School but then partnered with mainstream schools to support inclusive practices. Ashlie will be onsite at CNPS every Wednesday in Terms 2 and 3 working with a team of staff, as well as getting into the classrooms to observe school operations.

Ashlie has worked in education for the past 15 years in various schools, including mainstream, autism specific schools, specialist schools and special development schools. She has a passion for education of all with a particular interest in the evolving space of neuroaffirming practice. Please welcome Ashlie to the school when you see her around on Wednesdays.

School Saving Bonus

You may have seen the recent announcement of the School Saving Bonus, as part of the Victorian Budget 2024/25. We are sharing more information about how families will be able to access and use this support.

This one-off support will include $400 for each eligible student to help families cover the costs of school uniforms and activities in 2025.

It will be available to parents and carers of every child enrolled in a Victorian government school in 2025.

Cash will not be paid directly to individuals or families. Instead, families will receive the bonus as credits on their school accounts that will help meet the costs of your children’s activities and uniforms.

Existing supports

The School Saving Bonus support will be in addition to existing and continuing means-tested supports for camps, sports, excursions and uniforms.

The application-based Affordable School Uniform program, through State Schools’ Relief, will continue to be available to families experiencing financial hardship or other forms of vulnerability and short-term crisis. This program allows schools to make multiple applications for support on parents' behalf throughout the year if needed.

There will be more information and guidance about the School Saving Bonus in Term 3, 2024, ahead of its implementation in 2025.
