Gemma's Message
St Gabriel's & St Stephen's Catholic Primary School's Principal
Dear Family and Friends,
I hope the Easter break was rejuvenating for all. It has been a whirlwind for us - many working over the holidays to ensure the smooth resetting of each school. I thank everyone for their commitment to bring joy and love to every environment and each area is clearly organised for children to access the AMAZING resources we have. Monday was a huge day and all educators were very active in the move. Thank you for your support on this day.
Gemma Leave
I will be taking 1 year of long service leave to focus on my health which has needed some support over the past few months. This time will ensure less disruption for the school and a full recovery for myself. Laura Merrick will be Acting Principal for this time and Chevon Adamidis will continue as Deputy Principal. I want to thank you all for sending love over my hernia operations and it seems my body needs a rest to become stronger. The school is in amazing hands and will continue all the focuses we have worked so hard on together. Our results have been outstanding over the past two years, the team have refined many practices and will continue along this strategic plan. You will see Jarryd and Chevon in many spaces coaching discovery and projects and the transfer of learning and capabilities. Mariam and Michelle will continue coaching focusing on explicit teaching of Literacy and Numeracy.
Enrolments
Our Prep enrolments are officially open and our last two tours were completed this week. Our Prep interviews will be sent out in the next week. St Gabriel’s has an excellent reputation as a wonderful school community, I encourage families who have a child they wish to enrol for next year to submit an enrolment application ASAP. We ask that all enrolments be completed via the link on our website. Please visit our office and speak to Laura or Louise if you require assistance. We have begun our school tours with many families attending.
Building Grant
We have submitted a Capital Grant application to extend our junior block - increased learning hubs/ Kitchens/ outdoor learning space from each hub and a library. We will find out in June if we were successful. We thank MUSK architects for facilitating this stage of the master plan once again. As the project advances, I'll ensure to provide regular updates to keep you informed.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Congratulations to our children and families who will celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Wednesday night. We continue to pray for you all.
May April bring lots of great things for you all and I hope we have a little bit of sunshine through the remainder of Autumn.
