Sarah Hill

Welcome to Week 4 everyone! I hope you’re ready for a fun filled week of swimming. I don’t know who is going to come out of it more tired- staff or students?! Either way, what a wonderful opportunity to engage in an activity outside of the classroom, and continue to build that connect with students

Swimming

Preparation is key and as we know this is the case for our students, classroom teams and parents. Thank you to those allocated as teachers in charge for conducting meetings in the lead up, and discussing the potential risks, and the planned responses or solutions to reduce the likelihood of these risks coming into play.

Please continue to refer to your group's risk assessment and make a specific effort to ensure all unfamiliar staff in particular are informed as to their role for the duration swimming.

MSS Assemblies

Thank you to Rooms 11 & 18 for working collaboratively to create our Week 2 assembly. This is now available on Seesaw for you to view. Next up we have Rooms 12 & 15.

Week 6: Room 10, 13 & 16

Week 8: Rooms 14 & 17

Excursions

A gentle reminder that heading into this term we have excursions taking place- please ensure you remain on top of the excursion to do list ahead of time. Be sure permission has been given by parents, the activity locator lodged and transport as well as staffing considered. I urge you to touch base with both myself and the admin staff in the weeks leading up to the excursion to ensure you have a second set of eyes over documentation, and a sounding board to assist in planning and coordination of the excursion.

Tier 1 Feedback & Coaching

More information to come shortly regarding the sub school leader observation and feedback cycle which will see sub school leaders in classrooms, providing feedback on tier 1 supports, and more specifically, tidy, organised classroom learning environments. Think, does what I have detailed on my tier 1 checklist accurately reflect what is happening in my classroom? Do I need to declutter? Does everything ‘have its place?’.

PLC & Professional Learning

Both PLC and PL will continue to be woven as one, and will take place on Monday afternoons from 3:30pm. Both ES and teachers are encouraged to attend. Curriculum Teams will continue to take place on Tuesday afternoons.

IEP’s and Report Writing

Dan conducted a report writing briefing on Monday afternoon. If you were enable to attend, please ensure you refer to the PowerPoint referenced, touch base with your buddy classroom teacher, and of course liaise with myself if you would like further support or information.

Have a wonderful week! Thank you for all of your hard work and energy, particularly during swimming week.
