Week 2 Term 2

Dear Parents and Carers,

This Wednesday, we celebrate the Feast of Saint Fidelis and commemorate ANZAC Day. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces became known as ANZACs. Anzac Day is a commemoration of the anniversary of the landing of Australian and New Zealand troops at Gallipoli, Turkey, on 25 April in 1915. This is a very special day in Australia’s history.

An invitation is extended to our whole community to celebrate these two events this Wednesday. Please see the timetable below. We hope to see as many parents and carers as possible.

Last Friday, our Year Six students attended the Melbourne Legacy 92nd Annual ANZAC Commemoration for Students event, at the Shrine of Remembrance. The ANZAC Commemoration Ceremony for students, is an annual service to honour the brave service men and women through the eyes of the young.

The service featured a student guest speaker, school band and choir along with cadets by the Defence Force.  Two of our students laid a wreath around the eternal flame alongside other students from other schools.

PARENT/GUARDIAN/CARER CODE OF CONDUCT POLICY

We are currently updating some of the new policies that have been distributed to schools over the past couple of years by MACS (Melbourne Archdiocese of Catholic Schools).

The Parent/Guardian/Carer Code of Conduct provides clear guidelines to all parents and visitors regarding the conduct expected of them while in a school environment, engaging in school related activities or representing the school.

Some families will receive a Parent Code of Conduct Policy, which I require you to read and sign and return to school as soon as possible. If you don't receive a form, this means we have your updated form in our files.

Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to update policies from MACS to all Catholic Schools.
