Student Learning Reports

Over the last couple of weeks, teachers have been busy putting together Student Learning Reports to capture the achievement made by students across the first half of the year. Reports will be sent home next Wednesday with students and will be printed in hard copy.

Focus on Home Reading – Term 3

During Term 3 our school will be prioritising a focus on student’s reading at home and supporting efforts at home with an additional focus on the celebration of reading at school, including celebrating Book Week which will take place roughly in the middle of the term. Research shows us that our kids reading more regularly at home has a direct impact on their achievement outcomes at school, across the curriculum, regardless of family background or other factors in the home environment. Interestingly, kids being regularly read to at home has just as much impact on their reading as them practicing the reading themselves. We look forward to focusing on this important aspect of learning with everyone after the holidays.

Prospective Preps 2026

June is a busy time for transitions to primary school for our local kinder children. If you are thinking about enrolling your child at our school in 2026, please contact our office to organise a tour of our school and see how Raywood PS could be a good fit for your child and family.

Looking ahead to Term 3

Next term is a short one with only 9 weeks of learning at school. Our calendar is slowing coming together and we are looking forward to learning about all things Space and the Solar System, including an excursion to Science Works in Melbourne. Alongside this we will be celebrating Book Week, Milo’s Birthday Party, our Prep’s 100 Days at School and a number of Campaspe Cluster events.

Last Day of Term – Early Dismissal

Next Friday we will be celebrating the end of the school term with a barbecue lunch and out of uniform day. Students will need to bring along a gold coin to donate to a worthy cause if they would like to come out of uniform for the day and teachers will work with students to decide which cause donations will go towards. As next Friday is the last day of Term 2, school will finish an hour earlier at 2.20pm with the bus run happening earlier as well.

Raywood PS Values Award

This term we have begun to award a Raywood PS Values Award at the end of each week. At Raywood PS, our school values are Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. These values were chosen by students and our school community back in 2022 and are still a nice fit for the focus of our school.

Last Week our recipient was Oliver. Congratulations!

School Saving Bonus Update

The final date for parents and carers to access the School Saving Bonus portal is June 30, 2025. After this date, you will no longer be able to log in to the portal to allocate or spend any of your funds on school uniforms. Any unspent funds that have not been allocated back to 'school activities' by the parent or carer will automatically revert to the school by the end of July. These funds will be held on your school account as a credit to be used for school activities, such as camps, excursions, and sports.

If you have any questions or are unsure about anything, please feel free to give me a call.

Thank you, Bree.
