Careers + Opportunities

Year 10 Work Experience
Our Year 10 students participated in work experience placements from May 26th to 30th. Many of our local employers offered opportunities for our students to engage with new experiences in their workplaces, with some students venturing outside of our local area and interstate. Work experience placements allow students to experience the day-to-day operations of various industries and occupations, providing valuable insight into possible future career pathways and employability skill development. Several students also have additional placements scheduled over the remainder of the year to align with employer availability or requirements.
We would like to extend our thanks to all business that have hosted, or will host, a student for placement with some generously taking on more than one student!

Work Safely in Construction or Trades
Are you in Year 9, 10 11 or 12 and thinking about work experience in construction or trades?
Have you completed your “Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry” course? If you are planning to complete work experience, now or in the future, in any building, construction/trade related business (e.g. electrical, plumbing, etc), you will need to have completed this course prior to your work experience placement.
We have 4 places available on July 25th, this course will be held in Bright. To book your place email Ms Macklan ASAP.
Students will be able to participate at no cost (normally $165 per student), thanks to the Alpine Shire, who are funding this course. The course is a full day of training, hosted by 1 Stop Training Centre, for completion of the Construction Induction Training Course (CPCWHS1001 - Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry). The course is longer than a usual school day to ensure the training course requirements are met. The course will commence at 8.45am and conclude at 4.00pm.
More information about the course can be found here
