Mindset of a Learner

A look at the mindset of a successful learner.

At our school, we believe that every student has the potential to grow and thrive. A key part of this journey is developing a growth mindset; the belief that abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work. This mindset, combined with our core values of Respect, Kindness, and Confidence, lays the foundation for great learning.

We support our students in building this mindset by encouraging them to:

  • Learn from Mistakes: Mistakes aren’t setbacks, they’re opportunities for improvement.
  • Set Goals: Clear, achievable goals give students a sense of purpose and direction.
  • Stay Inquisitive: Curiosity allows for continual improvement, which can challenge contentment. We encourage students to ask questions, explore new ideas, and remain open to learning.
  • Welcome Feedback: Constructive feedback is a powerful tool. It helps students recognise their strengths and identify areas for improvement.
