Bunnings Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser - 16 August
The PFA are excited to announce that the annual PFA fund raising event – Bunnings BBQ at Narre Warren is scheduled for Saturday 16 August.
This event was started by the PFA over seven years ago and they have been running successfully ever since. All proceeds from the event are donated to the
school, last year the PFA made over $3,000.
At the beginning of the year, the committee and the PFA review the school's "wish list" and allocate the annual budget accordingly. This year the PFA have already committed to ~ $5000 to school. Nossal have requested standing desks for teachers, tennis nets for students and a trailer to be used for transport of school equipment. Based on the PFA’s fund position, they will review and consider additional requests at the end of year. The funds allocated by the PFA are primarily generated through three key initiatives: the monthly Uniform Shop, the mid-year Bunnings BBQ, and the End-of-Year Sale held in early December.
These events cannot run by the committee alone. Your support is essential to making these events a success. The PFA is looking for parent volunteers, and there are many ways you can get involved! You can lend a hand on the day, each shift is just 2 hours, and there are a variety of simple roles to choose from.
Once you have signed up (see the Google Drive link below), the PFA will walk you through the roles. They are easy to manage, and experienced parents will be there to guide and support you.
If you are unavailable on Saturday 16 August, you can still contribute by making a donation. Every dollar counts! Donations can be made easily via Try Booking. Please note that Try Booking charges a small service fee, so the minimum donation is $5. A summary of the funds raised will be shared with all parents by the school/PFA. Click on the Try Booking link at: https://www.trybooking.com/au/donate/2025pfabunningsbbq
You can also support the BBQ by purchasing and donating food or miscellaneous items needed. Just check the Google Doc link below and add your name next to any item you would like to contribute. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SeOyPOUGltlWAgvfr9Pnqeq9TTx8EFjOOQ3wl0KDyXk/edit?usp=sharing.
If all the listed items are donated, the PFA will start the day on a strong note, meaning every dollar raised from the BBQ goes directly to the school.
If you are interested in getting more involved with planning or learning how things work behind the scenes, the PFA would love to hear from you! Feel free to reach out to the PFA President Sarath Purushothaman or any member of the committee. For example, you could help by coordinating the volunteer roster for the day or managing the donation item list, small tasks like these make a big difference.
The PFA are keen to get more parents involved to help keep this tradition going for years to come.
Important: If you are volunteering at the BBQ stall on the day, you will need to complete the Food Safety training and questionnaire. Please visit: https://dofoodsafely.health.vic.gov.au/en/.
Note: If you have already completed this training in previous years, there is no need to do it again.
Thank you
