New Writing Resources

Perhaps you've heard on the radio or seen in your daily news an article similar to the one linked below.  In short, the article states that a large number of Australian year 9 students write at a year 4 level. It goes on to describe how the Australian Education Research Organisation has conducted analysis of research and developed teaching resources  and approaches to combat this trend.  

Here at St Joseph's, we have already been working with resources from AERO to enhance the teaching of mathematics and spelling.  Students in Years 3-6 have also been using them for their novel studies .  We are also engaging in ongoing professional development to continue to hone our skills in teaching literacy in a structured and systematic way. In an exciting development,  AERO is now releasing writing resources for students in Years Foundaton to 2.
