Principal's Message
Mr Alan Hope
Welcome to the 2026 school year. We are excited for the year ahead and all the opportunities it will bring for our students.
A very special welcome to our new students, particularly our Year 7 cohort, who have made a fantastic start to high school learning our school expectations. It has been wonderful to see how quickly they have settled in—finding their way around the school, building new friendships, and engaging positively in their learning. We are proud of the confident and respectful way they have began their journey with us, earning positive recognition through our STARS system.
We also welcome back our senior students, who are stepping into an important phase of their schooling. For our Year 11 and 12 students, this year represents a critical time where consistent effort, strong organisation, and ongoing application to learning are essential. Success in the senior years is built over time, and we encourage all students to remain focused, seek support when needed, and take every opportunity to maximise their potential of positive pathways.
It has already been a busy and exciting start to the year, highlighted by a highly successful Wellbeing Week. A key focus across the week was developing student understanding of their areas of high potential and personal strengths and how these can support both learning and wellbeing. Our Year 7 students completed the My Resilience program, building strategies to manage challenges and transition successfully into high school. Year 10 students explored My Strengths, identifying their individual qualities and how to apply them to learning, relationships, and future pathways. Our Year 12 students participated in workshops focused on planning for life beyond school, helping them to reflect on their strengths and prepare for the future. We use these strengths to support some individual planning and classroom activities throughout the year.
We encourage parents and carers—particularly of students in Years 7, 10, and 12—to ask their children about the strengths they identified and the workshops they participated in. These conversations are a great way to reinforce learning and support students in building confidence and celebrating what makes them unique.
Another highlight of the term has been the Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman programs, which worked with our students to build respectful relationships, resilience, and the confidence to look after themselves and their peers.
It has also been fantastic to see the return of our lunchtime competitions, with strong student participation in handball and the relaunch of our touch football league. These activities are a great way for students to stay active, connect with peers, and contribute to the positive culture of our school during breaks... while creating a little friendly competition.
As we move into the cooler months, we would also like to remind families of our expectations around school uniform. Wearing the correct uniform, including school jumpers, jackets, and track pants, helps build a sense of pride and belonging. We appreciate your support in ensuring students are prepared for the colder weather while maintaining our high standards.
Across the school, our focus remains on high-quality teaching and learning through our explicit teaching practices. Staff continue to engage in professional learning to ensure all students are engaging and learning to their potential.
We are looking forward to all of the exciting things planned ahead in 2026!
