Dear Parents,
We hope you had a wonderful long weekend. The cold weather has definitely hit this week. It is a timely reminder for all children to ensure they bring a jumper and jacket, all labelled with their name, to school each day. We attempt to get the children out for some play time each day. If the weather is deemed to cold, we will remain inside during break times.
We are excited to see some maintenance work happening around our school. New footpaths have been concreted in the past week. A new temporary access ramp and new footpath will be placed at the front of the school so our families, community members and visitors will have pram and wheelchair access to the main office block area. We are hoping to have a date for the installation of the reverse cycle cooling and heating into the Stage 3 classrooms in the next couple of weeks. We are also having new signage installed on the
front fence of the school and in the main foyer.
Congratulations to Griff Driscoll who attended the NSW PSSA AFL Carnival last week in Sydney. Griff had a fantastic week representing Bathurst Public School and Western Region. Western won 2 games and lost 3 games in some tough encounters. Well done, Griff, on a great week of AFL.
Our Rugby League Team played Oberon PS on Tuesday at Cubis Park. Our team had a terrific 40-0 win. This now qualifies our team to attend the Regional Finals in Parkes on Friday 27th June. We will play in the quarter finals against Orange Public School commencing at 10am. Well done to the team, Mrs Goninan, Mrs Fischbeck and Charlie and Jackson Fischbeck.
On Tuesday, our Support Unit Boccia team, along with Miss Reedy and Mrs Dive, competed in the Boccia competition. Our team had a fantastic day and were placed 5th in our Region at the conclusion of the event. What a fantastic result. Well done to our team of six players.
Our Cross Country representatives ran at a very cold Gosling Creek in Orange on Wednesday. Congratulations to all of our representatives on their fantastic effort. They conquered a tricky course in cold conditions. Well done Charlotte Seager, Natalia Heiner, James Hollier, Jordyn Gleeson, Will Skein, Kaelan Wheeler, Lilly Guihot, Sophie McPhee, Jax Brennan and Heidi Lyle. We are super proud of all the competitors.
