Literacy and Inquiry - Integrated Learning

We have worked hard on our letters home from the last time we left you! We have pretended to be convicts sent to colonise Australia writing letters of hope and despair back home. Here are a few passages! You can see more of our writing when attending parent teacher interviews where the children would love to show off their work!

Numeracy

We have been working hard in numeracy. Our Year 5 and 6 students have been building on their understanding of addition and subtraction by exploring a variety of strategies to solve problems efficiently and accurately. They have been using column algorithms and number lines, to add and subtract large numbers, decimals, fractions and money amounts. Some students have been working on their place value knowledge using MAB Blocks in order to display their knowledge of renaming!

The Polly Woodside!!! What a great day!!

We had our school excursion to Polly Woodside last Tuesday the 17th of June. Please have a great talk with your children about our awesome experience!
