Year 3 - Middle Unit

It has been an extremely busy Term 2 for everyone involved in Year 3. The students have taken part in a range of classroom and extracurricular activities, including Adekate Camp and the AquaAware Swimming Program.

Thank you to the families who took the time to meet with their child’s classroom teacher this week. These meetings were a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements made throughout the semester and to discuss academic and personal goals as we move into the second half of the year.

Over the past fortnight, students have produced some outstanding work in the classroom. In Maths, they have been exploring categorical data. Each student designed their own research question and surveyed their peers. This culminated in the creation of a range of data displays, including pictographs, bar graphs, and in some cases, pie charts using digital technologies.

In Literacy, students have been examining the persuasive devices used in advertising. They then designed their own shoes (many opting for sports shoes) and were tasked with “selling” them to a target audience. Students applied the persuasive techniques they had studied, including creating catchy slogans to entice potential buyers.

We wish all of our Year 3 students a safe and restful break and look forward to seeing you in Term 3.
