WPS Community Children’s Garden

No Garden Club this week due to an ill Garden Club leader (me).
Next term I need more people willing to step up and help me run Garden Club, please. Not only does the garden provide a safe and accepting space for students who sometimes feel a bit lost and lonely in the playground, it also provides the opportunity for them to learn in a physical, hand-on way. Look at the photos of the students having a wonderful time engaging in team work to remove some large plants.
To help run Garden Club, you don’t need any garden knowledge, just help wrangling the students. We regularly have 30-40 super-excited children, and I cannot manage this alone. Now we have our shipping container for storage, the students can get their own tool(s) out, adults just need to help them put their gloves on (literally!). If you’re working from home on a Monday, take an hour lunch break to join us for some outdoor fun in the garden. 😊
Parent’s Garden Club
In lieu of Garden Club this week, I’m considering running a Parent’s Garden Club session (ie working bee) at the start of the school holidays. Supervised children are also welcome. Look out for a call out through the normal WPS online channels.
