Dear CPS community,

We are enduring the last weeks of winter with rain and strong winds preventing outside play on some days. As we move towards the second half of Term 3, our students continue to engage in many exciting opportunities across the school.

As you know last week, we celebrated Book Week with our annual Character Dress Up Parade. More information, including photos of Book Week are included in this newsletter.

Upcoming events include our Foundation Expo 2.30pm and Market Night 3.30 -7pm both on Thursday 18th September. A reminder to get your tickets for our Market Night Raffle tickets $2.00 each vis the QR. There are some great prizes to be won.

All the children have been excited to play on our new playground before, during and after school. We are very pleased with the grant and how far it stretched, however, we would like to extend the rubber matting and replace the shade sails to enhance the space and including more planting. We also have plans for a Yarning Circle near the gym area, mural wall art along the gym wall engaging with a visiting artist to help with the design and seating along the portable classrooms. We will be purchasing some outdoor games e.g. Connect Four/ Tic Tac Toe to boost our lunch time games/activities. Our Community Events and Fundraising Committee are pleased to support these improvements, we thank our school community for your continuing contributions with our school fundraising.

We are well into planning for the 2026 school year. This forward planning is vital in a school as we need to know how many teachers to employ for the year ahead based on the number of children enrolled.  Thank you to the families who have enrolled for 2026 Craigieburn Primary School is currently accepting enrolments for 2026 for all grade levels including Foundation. If you have not enrolled your child as yet, please collect an enrolment form from our office, or request a form to be sent home with a sibling. If you know of any families with enrolments for next year, please remind them to contact the office as soon as possible.

As well as needing to know all future enrolments, we also ask any families that will be leaving us at the end of the year to notify the office in writing as soon as possible, as this also impacts on our forward planning. We would greatly appreciate all enrolments to be finalised as early as possible to assist us with our planning for next year.

Parent/Carers Opinion Survey Reminder

As shared in previous newsletters, our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey and is seeking your feedback.

The survey, offered by the Department of Education, is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement.

The survey will remain open online until Friday 19 September 2025.

Your opinions are important to us and will contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.

The survey is being conducted online and only takes 20 minutes to complete. It can be completed on any internet enabled device (desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone) and is compatible with most browsers.
