Leadership @ MPS

It’s been wonderful (albeit a little chilly!) returning to school after 5½ weeks of long service leave. I had a fantastic time away and truly appreciated the opportunity to recharge.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Mr Wickham, who did an outstanding job in my absence. His leadership and support helped ensure everything ran smoothly, and I’m incredibly grateful.
It’s great to be back with our school community and to rejoin all the exciting learning and activities happening across the school.
Neon Disco – A Night to Remember!
Last Friday’s Neon Disco was a huge hit! It was a fantastic evening filled with music, dancing and lots of glowing fun.
A big thank you to our DJ extraordinaire, Scott, for all his preparation and energy on the night. We’d also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the students and parent helpers who supported the event – your efforts helped make it such a success.
One student shared:“The lights were so cool and the music was awesome – I didn’t want the night to end!” It truly was a night to remember!
Indigenous House Tops - Now at Spatan!
For any families who missed the pre-order window, a limited number of our new MPS Indigenous House Tops are now available for purchase directly from Spartan School World in Lower Plenty.
These vibrant, specially designed shirts have been a big hit and have added a pop of colour to the school yard. A small number of extras have been ordered — so if your child still needs one, we recommend getting in quickly before they’re gone.
Thanks again for your support in celebrating and proudly wearing our new House design.
School Swimming Score!
We’re thrilled to announce that this year, our Water Safety Program for Grades 5 and 6 and our Swimming Program for Foundation to Year 2 students will be completely free of charge!
Thanks to the Department of Education for some increased funding as well as careful budget planning, these important programs will be fully covered at no cost to families.
This is a wonderful opportunity for all students to build essential water safety and swimming skills, and we’re so pleased to be able to offer it without any financial barrier.
We look forward to seeing our students in the water, learning and having fun safely!
Sibling Enrolments for 2026
Remember, if you have a child due to start Foundation with us at MPS in 2026, we encourage you to complete and return their enrolment forms as soon as possible.
The forms can be accessed via the link below, filled out electronically and returned to us via email at montmorency.ps@education.vic.gov.au
Getting these in early helps with our planning and ensures a smooth start for all!
Traffic Crossing Safety
A gentle reminder to all drivers in our school community to please take extra care and show courtesy around pedestrian crossings, especially during the busy times at the start and end of the school day. One of our crossing supervisors mentioned it's a timely moment to remind everyone of the importance of patience and awareness to help keep our students and families safe.
