This term in Visual Arts, we have continued to explore the sensory aspects of Art through sight and touch.
Going into Winter, there has been a theme of exploring cool colours, and learning about animals that live in the snow and other cool habitats, such as penguins, polar bears, and seals. At the beginning of the term, students used cool colours and tape to create ‘Winter Trees’.
Students also painted and decorated photo frames as gifts for Special Person’s Day.
Students also used Paper Mache techniques to create penguins, polar bears, and seals. Students used glue to stick ripped up pieces of coloured paper or newspaper onto their chosen animal.
Students in the Middle and Secondary Years were given the opportunity to participate in the Painted Penguin Project, which involves painting and decorating plywood penguins. These penguins will be sent to Hobart in Tasmania for the Australian Antarctic Festival.
