Reconciliation Week - 27 May to 3 June

How to Celebrate: “Maroondah City Council is celebrating Reconciliation Week in Ringwood Town Square on Tuesday 28th May with a Wurundjeri Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony and Didgeridoo performance at 11am, followed by the Mullum Market featuring First Nations arts and culture stalls, food and free children’s activities.  Also enjoy the Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place exhibition Grounding and Connecting in Artspace at Realm, as well as Your Library Indigenous Storytime sessions.

What is National Reconciliation Week: National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.  The theme for 2024 is Now More Than Ever - a reminder to all of us that no matter what, the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will —and must —continue.” Source - Maroondah City Council.
