Learn About Competitive Swimming

Ivanhoe Girls’ Aquatics are running an ‘Encouragement Meet’ on Thursday 4 July.

An Encouragement Meet is an opportunity for students to gain a better understanding of competitive swimming and racing event etiquette. Taking part will allow swimmers to try improving race times, experience race day marshalling and enjoy the challenge that a swim meet offers.

This event is open to anyone (all genders) whether they swim with a club or not.

WHERE: Ivanhoe Girls’ Aquatics Pool, Noel St, Ivanhoe, VIC 3079
WHEN: Thursday 4 July, from 3 – 5pm
RSVP: via QR code on poster or via the registration link.
COST: gold coin donation upon facility entry.
AGE: Children 7 years+ can register to compete. If your child is 9 years old, they would enter the ‘Under 10s’, if they are 10 years old, they would enter the ‘Under 11’s’, etc.

Comedy Workshop – Words & Laughter with Shiralee Hood

Have you got a funny story to tell? Have you ever thought of doing comedy? Want to write a funny story or song?

Across three weeks, have some laughs and find words for your funny ideas and stories. No experience necessary, all welcome. This is a series of three workshops. Come along to one, two or all three!

Shiralee Hood Noongar Kurnai Gunditjmara has been rocking audiences throughout Australia for many years with hilarious stories and an outrageously funny take on life. Shiralee's comedy adventures have included many Melbourne International Comedy Festival Shows, ABC Comedy Up Late, Adam Liaw's The Cook Up, and being National Winner of the Deadly Funny competition, to name just a few. Seen regularly on the streets of Darebin, Shiralee believes there’s a funny spark in everyone.
