Classroom Connections

French Intervention Project

The students have been working on their skills in French language. They have practised introducing themselves, speaking about their families and their friends, and what they like and what they dislike.

To illustrate this, the Year 2 students made a poster and the Year 4 students have created their own “lapbook” in which they’ve written and drawn about themselves. Some Year 2 students presented their work to their class and their friends. They will be bringing these home to share this masterpiece of artwork with their relatives. What a great opportunity to show their hard work to you!  One more step towards being more confident in French speaking!

A poem from Amelie

Midnight

When the sun is gone,

night falls,

Owls call,

the moon as bright as the sun.

The sky filled with twilight wonders,

marks that the day is done.

City light switch of one by one,

as shadows drift out to play.

Silence flutters by,as new and as high,

as midnight can’t be delayed.

When the night falls,

the parties drift asleep.

The kids who play and play,

are in bed with a leap.

Night falls,

owls call,

to the sun who fell under the earth.

DELF diploma ceremony

Congratulations to our French Binational Program class of 2023 for receiving their DELF (Diploma of French Language) in a beautiful ceremony yesterday evening.  Thank you to Mr Prevet, for his seamless organisation, to all our presenters and the numerous families who attended.  It was heartwarming to catch-up with our former students and hear about their new journey into secondary school.
