St Brendan’s Memorial Mass for Pope Francis
Last Thursday evening, April 24th, our Parish gathered for a deeply moving memorial Mass in honour of Pope Francis. Priests and parishioners from near and far came together in a spirit of unity, prayer, and reflection to remember and celebrate the life of His Holiness, Pope Francis — affectionately known as the "People’s Pope." The Mass was a beautiful tribute to his legacy of compassion, humility, and service. Through heartfelt prayers, music, and shared memories, the community found comfort and strength, giving thanks for a leader who touched the hearts of millions and inspired a renewed commitment to faith, hope, and love.
‘Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and perpetual light shine upon him.’ Amen
Students honour the life of Pope Francis
This week, our students gathered in prayer and reflection to honour the life and legacy of Pope Francis. Classes visited the memorial shrine in the Parish gardens, placed thoughtfully in front of the statue of St Francis. This solemn occasion marks a poignant moment in the history of the Church and offers our students a meaningful opportunity to deepen their understanding of faith, kindness, and service to others — values that Pope Francis modelled throughout his life.
Ecumenical Walk last Saturday 26th April
Prayer and Reflection at the Botanical Gardens
Last Saturday, the Ecumenical Walk in the Botanical Gardens was a truly beautiful and serene experience, led with gentle guidance by Father Joe and Sister Agnes. Surrounded by the splendour of nature, participants moved slowly and prayerfully along the winding paths, taking time for deep reflection and gratitude. The walk provided a sacred space to appreciate the beauty of creation, echoing the spirit of Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’, which calls us to care for our common home. Through prayer, silence, and shared moments, we honoured his enduring legacy of environmental stewardship, compassion, and respect for all life.
RCIA-Sacraments Of Initiation
Congratulations and Welcome to Miss Millie Casey
Over the Easter weekend, during the beautiful Vigil of the Light Mass, we joyfully welcomed Miss Millie Casey into the Catholic Church as she received the Sacraments of Initiation. It was a truly special and moving moment as Millie celebrated her Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist, surrounded by the love and support of our parish community and her mother and father. We congratulate Millie on taking this profound and courageous step in her faith journey. May her heart always be filled with the light of Christ as she continues to grow in faith, hope, and love.
