Principals' Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible Parents & Friends (P&F) Committee for organising such a beautiful celebration in honour of our mothers this week. Mother’s Day, celebrated this Sunday, holds special significance in our community as we pause to recognise and give thanks for the love, care, and devotion of all mothers.

We are especially grateful to the many fathers who generously volunteered their time on Tuesday morning to serve morning tea to our mums and students—it was a joyful and memorable occasion. A sincere thank you to Mr Daidone and Mr Mayberry for capturing these precious moments in photographs that will be cherished for years to come.

A special acknowledgment goes to Mrs Ady and her dedicated team for thoughtfully preparing the Mother’s Day Mass. We are also grateful to Fr Justin for leading us in such a meaningful celebration of faith and gratitude.

Thank you once again to the P&F Committee for organising the Mother's Day Stall on Wednesday. There were many happy customers carefully selecting special gifts to share this Sunday.

A Mother’s Day Prayer

Loving God,

We thank You for the gift of mothers, who reflect Your unconditional love, compassion, and nurturing spirit. Bless all mothers today with strength, patience, and joy. Whether they are near or far, with us in person or held dearly in memory, may they always feel the love of those whose lives they touch.

Grant them peace in their hearts, wisdom in their actions, and grace in all they do.

Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the most holy mother of all, may they continue to be blessed and protected.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

In memory of Mr Bau

Over the weekend, the Grade 5 boys who play for St Bede’s/Mentone Tigers wore black armbands in honour of Mr Bau. It was also deeply moving to see boys from other schools join in wearing armbands as a show of support for their teammates during this time of loss. This act of solidarity and respect is a testament to the strength and compassion of our broader community.

School Winter Uniforms

As we begin Term 2, students may choose to wear either their full summer uniform or their full winter uniform (please do not mix and match) through the end of Week 3.

From Monday, 12th May, all students must be in FULL WINTER UNIFORM, including the correct shoes.

Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining our school’s high standard of presentation.

Special News

Congratulations to Mr. Bodie Ross and his wife, Alysia, on the joyful arrival of their twin daughters, Charlotte Daisy and Elodie Margaret, born on 2nd May 2025. Mum, Dad, Charlotte, and Elodie are all doing wonderfully, and we’re over the moon to welcome these precious little ones into our St Patrick’s family.

Junior Playground

I am pleased to share that we have begun planning for the installation of the new Junior playground, which we hope will take place during the September school holidays. In the coming weeks, Mr Speranza, Mrs Diakrousis, and I will be meeting with the Student Representative Council (SRC) to gather student input on the playground’s features, including colours and design elements. We are excited to involve the students in this process and look forward to seeing their ideas come to life.
