From our Parent Committee

News from the PC!

Welcome back to term 2! We hope everyone has had a lovely break and for those that do, a chance to celebrate Pesach and Easter.

Thanks to all that attend the online PC meeting on Wednesday. We are getting ready for a busy start to the term with the Federal Election and Mother’s Day breakfast and stall. As always, these events can not be done without the help of our CJC volunteer community. Details on how to volunteer are below.

General News

Federal Election: CJC is a voting site for the federal election on Saturday 3rd May. We are looking for volunteers to help on the day with set up, cooking on the BBQ, selling cakes and packing up at the end of the day, please follow the link to volunteer –

Your oldest child will be coming home with cake donation information. The PC is asking those that can, to donate a cake (home made or store bought) to the cake stall, the cakes need to be delivered to school on the Friday before (2nd May). Please make sure all ingredients are listed on the cake for prospective buyers.

Mother’s Day Stall: The Mother’s day stall will be held on the 9th May. Volunteers are requested to help throughout the day with helping children choose their gifts. Please see this link to volunteer for the Mother’s Day stall - http://volunteersignup.org/JWY7Q

Mother’s Day Breakfast: The Mother’s day breakfast will be held on the morning of the 9th May.

This annual event is a great time to take a moment, meet and catch up with other mums, grandmothers and carers and for us to celebrate the amazing contribution that you make to our families and community.

Tickets will be on sale soon, and we encourage dads, partners, carers and grandfathers to volunteer (if you can spare a few hours) to help make this occasion a special one for our special people.

Child Safety: A reminder that all parents/carer’s who wish to volunteer at CJC must have a Working With Children Check – it is free for volunteers and you can apply online here: Working with Children Check (service.vic.gov.au)

Julia Yuncken – President, Marni Baker-Vice President, Amy Pate – Secretary, Anne-Sophie Aguado – Treasurer and Martine Inge – Head Convenor.
