2026 Tear 7 Information Night & School Tours
We have had an overwhelming response from both new and current families taking part in college tours and our information evening in preparation for Year 7 in 2026. It has been wonderful to welcome so many visitors through our doors, eager to learn more about what Horsham College has to offer. The strong attendance at these events reflects the growing interest in our school and the positive reputation we continue to build within the community.A big thank you to all staff and students who assisted in the running of these events. Your support and enthusiasm play a key role in showcasing the vibrant and inclusive learning environment we are so proud of here at Horsham College.
SRC
The SRC committees will meet in the coming weeks to discuss a range of exciting initiatives to improve our school environment. Topics on the agenda include planning the Term 3 casual day fundraiser, ideas for enhancing the flower beds, adding more seating around the school, and a fun new competition where each year level is responsible for keeping their area clean, with prizes for the cleanest. Students are encouraged to chat with their SRC representatives if they have ideas or suggestions to help make our school even better.
Attitudes to School Survey
The Attitudes to School Survey is administered to all students in Years 4-12 at Victorian Government schools and seeks to gain information from students regarding effective teaching practice, teacher-student relations, social engagement and student experiences at school, such as student safety and experience of bullying. This data is extremely important to the College, and we appreciate the honesty from our students. Students will complete their survey in classtime in the coming weeks, with the survey being administered by members of the Leadership Team.
Uniform
With the colder weather approaching, a few students are wearing non-compliant uniform items such as hoodies/jumpers underneath their uniforms. A friendly reminder that hoodies are not to be worn. Students wishing to wear long-sleeved shirts - plain white or navy blue long sleeve can be worn under a college polo only. Your support with this matter is appreciated. Further information on the uniform policy can be found here:

Online safety
It is important that both parents and students understand the potential dangers of online content and the sharing of images. What may seem like a harmless post or message can quickly be shared beyond its intended audience, leading to serious and lasting consequences. Personal details and images, especially intimate ones, can be difficult to remove once online and may be used in harmful ways. Families can work together to build safer, more responsible online habits by having regular, open conversations about these risks.
Steps parents can take to support online safety:
Talk regularly with your child about their online activity and who they are connecting with.
Set clear rules about which platforms to use and what is appropriate to share.
Keep devices in shared family spaces to encourage open and safe use.
Use parental controls and privacy settings to help monitor and limit exposure to inappropriate content.
Encourage your child to speak up if something they see online makes them feel uncomfortable.
Stay informed by accessing resources like the eSafety Commissioner website, which offers up-to-date advice and support for families.
