Donation to School Club
The Car Enthusiast / Engineering Lunchtime Club received a bonus this week with the donation of brand new model car kits, courtesy of Mauceri Motors.
Victoria Tsolakis (Year 11) prepared a most comprehensive request for sponsorship to assist this new lunchtime club to purchase equipment, immediately impressing Marissa. The two met in person for a handover of goods which will be unveiled for members of the club at their next meeting.
A fantastic donation from a local family business.

Year 12 Religious Education
Year 12 RE have concluded their unit of work on Sacred Spaces. Students were shown a range of church constructions over the last 2000 years, including many modern designs. They then were asked to research further in small groups, then design and construction their own 3D model of a sacred space. The students worked with a range of mediums to complete the task. Currently the completed designs are on display in the Resource Centre until the start of Term 3. We look forward to the other Year 12 RE classes completing their models later in Term 3.

Year 7 Art
Year 7 Art students had fun designing, constructing, and decorating dinosaurs out of clay this semester. They used hand building skills in the modelling and joining of ceramics shapes and every student created a unique dinosaur capturing an individual personality.
Year 10 LEAP – Community Action Program
This semester year 10 LEAP students explored the importance of designated outdoor spaces within suburbia. They walked to several outdoor areas within the local community and researched the spaces, looking specifically for recreation facilities, areas for outdoor sporting practise or playing, walking, gathering areas, accessibility and native trees and plants. It was a lovely opportunity for students to catch up with friends and despite ones age the pleasure of swinging, climbing, and sliding on the play equipment. Students reflected on the vital importance of these spaces with suburbia for physical and mental health as well as environmental benefits.

VCE Unit 3 Visual Communication Design
VCE Unit 3 Visual Communication Design students have been involved this semester in learning and experiencing the new VCD Design Process of the Double Diamond (Discover, Define, Develop and Deliver). As part of this process, students have had to investigate themes, ideas or experiences in order to discover a problem ripe for a designed solution. They then were required to define this problem in a Design Brief that would set the tone for the creative and exploratory Develop stage of the Design Process. During the Develop stage, students were permitted to be hands-on with their creative practices to ideate a range of design ideas that related to the needs established in their Design Briefs. Students also had to work together to critique each other’s work to identify new directions or missed opportunities that the designer might not have seen in their own explorations.
Please take a look at the students involved in their creative environments using a range of different Materials, Media and Methods and giving feedback to one another through post-it notes.

Yoga
Earlier this year Humanities teacher Mr Chuck Chan became an accredited yoga instructor. He has generously run Yoga classes for staff at Nazareth each Thursday afternoon. In Term 1 the focus was on Asanas (poses) and Pranayama (breathing). In Term 2 Guru Chuck has led the yogis through deepening the holding range of Asana practice (Hatha & Ashtanga), and exploring the Pranayama techniques of Bhastrika & Nadi Shodana.
We thank Chuck for running these classes which have helped the wellbeing of the staff members who attend.
