In the recent Australian Boarding Schools Association publication, "ABSA History, the First 15 Years",  a timeline illustrates the development of Boarding schools that were developed to allow children from remote/ distant areas to attend educational institutions in the major cities. Most of these were set up by religious orders including Catholic, Anglican, and Presbyterian Churches. Amongst the Christian Brothers, Marist Brothers, and other Orders of the Catholic Church, it is an amazing feat that 4 Sisters of Presentation sailed from Ireland and landed in Melbourne in the 1870s, making their way to Wagga Wagga and beyond. Mount Erin Boarding School, (MEBS) is a testament to their dedication and Faith - A Legacy of Excellence.
