TERM 2 WEEK 10

Week 10 Update

As another action-packed term draws to a close, we'd like to take this moment to congratulate everyone on a fantastic first semester of 2024!

Schools are dynamic environments, and our students are exposed to challenging and demanding learning environments. While it can be intense, our dedicated teachers consistently create innovative and engaging experiences that not only challenge but reward our students. This fosters the development of strong literacy, numeracy, and learner qualities – essential tools for navigating the complexities of the modern world.

It's incredibly rewarding to witness the entire LNPS community, staff and students alike, continuing to demonstrate "Pursuit of Excellence" and remarkable resilience throughout the year.

Micro-credentials for Professional Development

We are thrilled to announce that Adelaide University and DfE have chosen LNPS to participate in a project to showcase our exemplary teaching and learning practices in Explicit Teaching and Phonics.

This project aims to develop micro-credentials (short films) highlighting effective strategies used in Australian classrooms.

LNPS is the only public school in South Australia selected, making it an exciting opportunity to share our expertise on a national stage.

Today we welcomed the film crew to undertake filming of explicit teaching in our classrooms and interview  David Smith, Amy Loprete, and Anton Starr. Congratulations to our teachers on this well-deserved recognition.

Next term the film crew will be returning to film our exemplary teaching of phonics.

Mid-Year Progress Reports

It is coming to the end of the First Semester and Mid Year Progress Reports have been emailed to families and are available in the EMS Community Portal.  If you are not able to access the EMS Community Portal please contact Vanessa on 8443 5544.

Mid-Year (Term 3) Reception

On Tuesday 23rd July, we welcome our first cohort of Mid-Year Receptions. We are extremely excited to welcome them to LNPS. These students are also our first group to participate in our new transition program 'Little Flyers'.

Little Flyers is a program designed to support children as they prepare to start school, facilitating a smooth entry into school life. It involves regular visits on a Friday followed by 3 transition visits. Feedback from students, families and staff has been extremely positive and has ensured that our students are school-ready.

Early Dismissal and PFD

Just a reminder that we have early dismissal at 2:10pm this Friday. and a PFD on the first day back next term (Monday 22nd July).

We encourage everyone to take full advantage of the upcoming winter break by relaxing, recharging, and spending quality time with loved ones. We look forward to seeing you all refreshed and ready for a successful second semester!
