Working Together for Success in Learning

Collaborative learning (a situation in which two or more people learn something together) is a very common approach in a PYP classroom. It occurs when students actively participate with their peers to explore, inquire, and solve problems together. This approach involves students working in pairs, small groups, or teams to exchange ideas, discuss concepts, and accomplish tasks collectively. We know educational experiences that are active, social, contextual, engaging, and student-owned lead to deeper learning. This is why we offer many opportunities for our students to create success together.

Through collaborative learning, students develop effective communication skills, spark greater creativity, foster cooperation, and enhance deeper critical thinking abilities as they work towards common goals. This approach can take various forms, such as partnered tasks, group discussions, projects, peer reviews, or collaborative problem-solving activities. It promotes a deeper understanding of topics while nurturing interpersonal skills essential for lifelong learning.

Collaborative learning in the PYP classroom empowers our students to work together towards success, leveraging each other's strengths and perspectives to effectively achieve shared goals.

Creating Success Together: Subject & Pathways Expo

We are excited about our Subject & Pathways Expo taking place today. This event reflects our motto of 'Creating Success Together' by offering crucial information about career paths and subject choices to Secondary Year students. Additionally, there will be informational sessions about the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the 2025 Year 9 elective options, helping students and parents prepare for the future. By bringing together students, parents, and educators, we are dedicated to fostering a supportive community focused on achieving success together.
