ALL WELCOME – WORSHIP AT ST PAUL

Everyone is welcome to join us on Sunday morning for worship. Worship times are 8:30am for a Traditional Service and 10:00am for a more Contemporary service with Godly Play on offer for primary school aged children. Tea and Coffee and a time of gathering is held most weeks after both worship services. On the first Sunday of the month, we join together in one service, with a blended style of worship.

GROWING FAITH AT HOME

This resource is developed by the Lutheran Church of Australia and is intended to be a guide in sharing faith activities with members of your family.

Here are a few ways you could introduce faith discussions in your home and day-to-day life.

This week the Bible reading is the story of how Jesus calms the storm.  The disciples of Jesus were out on a lake in a storm and were very frightened, thinking that they might drown.  They woke Jesus, who was asleep in the boat and Jesus stood up and told the wind and the waves to “Quiet!  Be Still!”. Then the wind died down and the water became completely calm.

Jesus has the power to help us in times of trouble. With faith, we can pray that Jesus will calm our fears and help us to see and trust that he is with us in every storm of life.

[the disciples asked themselves] “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” (Mark 4:41)

Mealtime Prayer:

For all we eat and all we wear; for daily bread and nightly care; for your good gifts to use and share; we thank you, Lord. Amen.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, please replace our fears with faith; give us courage and keep us calm in times of trouble. Amen.

Blessing:

(Child’s name) May God calm you when you are afraid. May he give you faith to trust in his love.  Amen.
