Thank you to all who joined in the winter fun last Friday, wearing their winter woollies and sharing hot chocolates. The total amount raised for the Hutt Street Centre was $545.69, which will be sent directly to them to support their work with homeless people in Adelaide.
Congratulations to the Junior Voice Committee and all involved!
As the mornings get colder, it’s still great to see many happy children waiting to enter the school first thing in the morning. Please remember that we open gates and begin supervision at 8:30am each morning. Families who are arriving earlier than 8:30am are asked to please remain until the gates are opened to ensure that your child is safe and being cared for by you.
If you are dropping your child via Barton Reserve, this includes staying to supervise until your child is safely inside the school grounds once we open the gate. If your child walks to school unaccompanied, we suggest they leave at a time which would lead to a school arrival time after 8:30am. Your child’s safety is of utmost importance to us.
Did you know that we have an exemption form that needs to be completed by parents before any extended absence for your child? This includes any family holiday for more than 5 school days. School attendance is required by law in Australia, and my responsibility includes ensuring that attendance is monitored. It’s not as bad as it sounds! If you are going to be away with your child/ren for more than 5 days, ask our administration staff for a form, complete the basic information (name, length of time and purpose), sign and return. You will get an email response letting you know that the leave has been approved. On a rare occasion, we might let you know that your child has been absent for quite a bit and to be mindful of that in future.
Thank you for helping us to be compliant with our attendance requirements as a school.
