Assistant Principal 

Welcome back all student and family to LSC for term three of 2024. It has been a joy to return to the college with the campus being fully open and free from construction equipment. Students have settled into the term well, both in their learning and in the school yard, with students now moving freely around the entire campus and filling up the school grounds in a fashion that has not been seen for years. 

The term began with a couple of momentous occasions with the school’s second whole school assembly for the year, and the year 7 and year 8 semesters award as assemblies. The whole school assembly was a successful occasion with over one thousand two hundred staff and student attending the gymnasium to start the second semester off officially and to acknowledge the academics awards winners for semester one. The year 7 and year 8 award assemblies were a pleasure also to attend with a great number of student achieving awards for attendance, participation, leadership, sports, the arts, community engagement, and academia. Well done to all of our awards winner and to all students for their fantastic efforts in semester one. 

In week two, year ten students received their regularly scheduled immunisations and administered by the Whittlesey Council. There were a large number of families that did not respond to the immunisation posts and email, you may be contacted the council in response to the question of “would you give consent to the immunisation”. Please be aware that depending on the response to this, the council may look to run a second, catch up, session to meet the needs of those that missed out. If you wish to get the immunisation (meningococcal) in your own time, please speak to you GP. 

Term three is looking to be a very busy term with events and activities. A reminder to our parent community to please ensure that you are monitoring compass and events that arise, particularly those that require and consent. If you need to have your password resent for compass, please contact the general office.
