Year Three/Four News

Writing – Evelyn C
In Writing we are learning about Historical recounts. We have chosen a world celebration to research for the term. There were a lot of celebrations to choose from but I chose one that I didn’t really know about so that I could learn more about it. I chose Hannukah as my celebration, it has been really fun researching and learning about it.
Reading – Willow P
In Reading we have been learning about non-fiction texts and different features of non-fiction books and online texts. We have been exploring Kids News to look at different features online and comparing the differences between online and books. Some online features include navigation and search bars. Kids News was a great example for us to explore and look at the different online features.
Maths – Kylo M
In Maths we have been learning about time. We have learnt about digital and analogue clocks. The digital clocks are easy to read. When using the analogue clocks we need to remember that the small hand is the hour and the bigger hand is the minute hand. We have looked at times including quarter to, quarter past, o’clock and half past.
Humanities – Aliza M
In Humanities we have been learning about different celebrations from around the world. This celebration learning has linked to writing as we are writing a historical recount about a celebration. Some of these celebrations include Lunar New Year, Halloween, Diwali and more. We have been learning about the history of these celebrations and how they have changed through the year.
