"BOOK AN ADVENTURE"

Book Week 2025

"The library is not just full of books, but also opportunities."

Abbey 2016

Mrs McGuirk is back!

It's wonderful to be back and welcomed back so warmly by staff and students alike.

Thankyou to Mrs Dever and the Library Leaders for keeping the library in tip top condition ready for my return.

Mr McGuirk and I saw the sights and tasted many Portuguese tarts as we travelled through Portugal and Spain while walking the Camino Portuguese. Not quite as lengthy as our previous walk but equally as interesting. We met wonderful people from many countries and shared our own stories as we journeyed to our end destination Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

Our final stop was Malta, a very small but beautiful country, abounding with history, wonderful food, friendly people and my relatives.

A few pics, as I can't go past a bookshop. Featured outside the Wise Old Owl Bookshop in Malta, inside the Lello Bookshop in Porto and Mr McGuirk and I stopped outside the oldest operating bookshop in the world in Lisbon, Portugal, the Livraria Bertrand 1732.

LIBRARY BAGS

Please note a LIBRARY BAG is the first item on your child's equipment list for the year.

Thank you for ensuring your child has a library bag. I have some spares and will issue these to students next week who have not yet presented with a bag.

LIBRARY BAGS MATTER...  Not just some of the time but all of the time.

No food or drink on my books.

Food and drink are for the chooks.

Library bags keep ‘em clean.

Books are cool don’t treat ‘em mean.

Bring your bag every time.

Fill it up and get in line.

Have it scanned and scoot on out.

LIBRARY BAGS

We all shout.

When students visit the library a huge emphasis is placed on the

Ask your child about the bookmark which provides home access for World eBooks and World Book online.
