Classroom connection

What's happening in the classrooms?

Drama workshop

Our Prep students recently participated in Next Stage, a free program designed to engage young learners across the Victorian Curriculum through innovative Drama activities.

This 90-minute workshop invited our deep thinkers, movers, creatives, and future leaders to explore collaboration, creative thinking, communication, and leadership, all essential 21st Century skills that prepare them for life beyond the classroom.

Through role play, group work, improvisation, script activities, and digital media, students learned how to express ideas, solve problems, and work together. Next Stage encouraged children to become confident communicators, critical and creative thinkers, and compassionate collaborators by helping them take the next step in their personal development journey.

Our Preps absolutely loved the experience and embraced the chance to shine on their “next stage”!

High-Ability Science Incursions : Exploring Forces, Sound, and Light!

Our high-ability in science Prep, Year 1, and Year 2 students recently took part in an exciting Science Incursion facilitated by PrimeSCI! from Swinburne University of Technology.

The Prep students explored the world of Forces by investigating how toys move. Through hands-on experiments, they discovered the effects of push, pull, friction, gravity, tension, torque, and magnetism, linking scientific language to familiar, everyday experiences.

Meanwhile, the Year 1 and 2 students delved into the fascinating topics of Sound and Light. Using torches, prisms, and mirrors, they experimented with how light and sound travel, bounce, and move through different materials, and learned about the types of light that we can and can’t see.

Both sessions offered our young scientists a wonderful opportunity to think critically, explore through discovery, and deepen their understanding of the world around them. A big thank you to PrimeSCI! for bringing science to life in such an engaging way!
