Samara Shines at Queensland Track and Field Trials

Over three scorching, humid days in Townsville, Samara represented our school with incredible determination and talent at the Queensland School Sport Track and Field Athletics Trials. Despite the tough conditions, she delivered an outstanding performance across her events. Samara competed in the individual 100m and 200m at the trials.

In the 100m, Samara smashed her personal best with a blistering 13.29 seconds, placing second in her heat and fourth in her semi-final. What an exceptional performance.

In the 200m, Samara was on fire, winning her heat, then finishing second in her semi-final and qualifying third fastest overall heading into the final. In a thrilling race, she clocked another personal best of 27.16 seconds, finishing fifth fastest in Queensland and just one millisecond off the podium.

To top it all off, Samara’s incredible speed in the 200m has earned her qualification for the Australian Junior Athletics Championships in April 2026, where she’ll proudly represent Queensland.

What an amazing achievement, Samara! Your hard work, grit, and sportsmanship have made our school community incredibly proud.
