Class 3E

3E have had a wonderful and productive start to Term 4! Our class has been working hard across all learning areas and showing amazing enthusiasm in everything we do! I cannot wait to see everything they accomplish at the end of the year.

Mathematics

In mathematics we have been working to represent multiplication and fractions in many different ways. We are using hands on materials to explore, practice, and represent. Through this exploration students understand that multiplication can be seen as repeated addition, equal groups, arrays, and Fact families. They also understand what halves, quarters, thirds, and fifths look like in different shapes and that fractions are equal parts of a whole. It has been wonderful to see students’ confidence grow, and they can visualise and explain their thinking and reasoning.

English

In English, we have been enjoying our class novel Kumiko and the Dragon by Briony Stewart. The story has inspired thoughtful discussions about courage, friendship, and believing in yourself. Students have been describing characters and settings, predicting what might happen next, and reflecting on how Kumiko changes throughout the story.

Design and Technologies

In Design and Technologies, we are putting our creativity and problem-solving skills to work as we design and soon begin building our own lunch box protection inventions! Students have brainstormed ideas to keep lunches safe and are now planning how to create their prototypes using recycled materials.

It’s been fantastic to see students’ enthusiasm, curiosity, and teamwork in action. I am so proud of the effort and imagination they bring to every lesson!

☀️ No Hat, No Play

We are noticing an increasing number of students arriving at PE lessons without a hat. Our spare hat supply is very limited.

Please ensure your child brings their own clearly named hat to school every day. Hats are an important part of our SunSmart policy and are required for outdoor activities, including PE.

Thank you for helping us keep our students safe in the sun.
