Grandparents & Special Friends Day - Thursday, 23rd October
We warmly invite all grandparents and special friends to join us for this special celebration with our students.
Schedule for the Day
9:00 am – Classroom Visits
10:00 am – Whole School Mass
11:00 am – Morning Tea
We look forward to sharing this joyful occasion together and celebrating the important role grandparents and special friends play in our school community. Our students are proud to belong to such a wonderful school, and this event is a lovely opportunity for them to share their pride in their learning and achievements.
We recognise that some students may not be able to invite a grandparent or special friend for various reasons. However, we are confident that all our guests will take an interest in every child’s work and enjoy the day as a shared community celebration. Parents and other family members are also considered special friends and are warmly invited to attend.
Classroom Visits (9:00 am – 9:45 am) This will be an informal session where students will be working independently or in small groups. Grandparents and special friends are invited to visit classrooms, observe learning and engage in activities or conversations with the students.
Mass and Morning Tea
Following classroom visits, guests are invited to join the Whole School Mass at 10:00 am, followed by morning tea at 11:00 am in the school grounds. Morning tea will conclude at approximately 11:35 am. Students will enjoy an icy pole for morning tea, while grandparents and special friends are invited to share a cuppa and muffin together.
We look forward to celebrating this special day as a community and honouring the important connections between our students and the significant people in their lives.
Attendance
We want to remind everyone of the importance of regular attendance. Every school day counts, and each day a child is absent means a missed opportunity for learning and growth. We ask for your support in promoting consistent attendance to ensure that every child can benefit fully from the opportunities we provide. Term 4 promises many opportunities with warmer weather and less illness it will be important to be at school and work towards achieving our goals.
School Uniform
Correct school uniform is required, and the following rules should be observed:
(a) Complete school uniform should be worn on every normal school day, right shoes, socks, jumpers and hats.
(b) School tracksuit and sneakers are to be worn only on Phys Ed/Sports/Gym days.
(c) If a full school uniform or tracksuit is not worn on the appropriate day, a written explanation should be given to your child's class teacher.
(d) Hair should be neatly tied back if it is shoulder length or below.
(e) Students remain under cover if they are not wearing a hat during terms 1&4.
(f) Jewellery, a wristwatch may be worn. A plain neck-chain may only be worn if it includes a small cross, crucifix or Christian medallion. Earrings, sleeper or studs. Nail Polish is not to be worn.
Summer Uniform
All students are invited to wear their summer uniform. We ask that all students be in full summer uniform by Week 3 of Term 4. Your support is appreciated in ensuring students wear the correct uniform, particularly the correct socks, and that no brand names are visible.
SunSmart
St Kilian's Bucket hats are compulsory from September 1st to April 30th for all outside activities. New hats are available from the uniform shop. Even though the sun might be hiding behind clouds it is time to recommence wearing our hats.

2026 Students
Planning for the 2026 school year has begun. To assist with this process, if you know your child (in Grade Prep to 5) will be leaving St Kilian’s School at the end of the year, except the graduating Grade 6 class, could you please inform me via email or a letter of your intentions as soon as possible. By doing this, it will assist in organising staffing and class numbers for the 2026 school year. I thank you for your assistance, in advance, for the parents who this applies
