Principals’ Network Meeting

On Thursday, Assistant Principals Andrew Shaw and Erin Bennetts and Leading Teacher Ros Walker attended the Inner East Principals’ Network Meeting at Mount Waverley. The morning session, presented by the Wellbeing Distillery, focused on collaboration and strategic planning of school approaches to Wellbeing. The next workshop looked at developing the capacity of Middle Leaders, where Erin, Ros and Andrew were able to share the MPRPS Organisational Design, developed to promote collective responsibility in delivering the vision of our school.

Principals and school leaders spent the day planning for improving student outcomes in literacy, numeracy and wellbeing, improving student attendance rates, and developing strategy for avoiding incidents and improving incident reporting.

Spotlight on Visitors to our School

All visitors to our school are required to sign in at Reception and hold a current Working With Children’s Check card as per our Visitors Policy PUBLICATIONS & POLICIES on the school website.

When we have special events during the school day we ask visitors to use our Visitor Sign In form to acknowledge the procedures we have around Child Safety and so we have a record of all onsite.

School Council

We welcomed our new School Councillors for 2024 to their first full meeting. It is my pleasure to announce:-

The new councillors joining us this year are Sandhya Menon: Kinder Rep, Georgie Hill, Jonathan Prescott and with us again are George Ma, Luke Nielson. Andrew Shaw, Em Glen and Nick Dix are the staff on council this year. Over the next few weeks we will introduce each of our councillors. Meet Jen

Hello! My name is Jennifer Teoh and my two daughters attend MPRPS in Year 5 and Year 1. My girls really enjoy coming to school and I like being able to contribute to the growth and support of our school and community.

I have been a primary school teacher for 15 years and have also enjoyed working with children through to adults as a swimming instructor, dance teacher and an event management. Education is my greatest passion and obsession. I love finding ways to enable each child to grow and achieve. I enjoy planning and problem solving as well as keeping an open mind and seeing things from many perspectives.

As a working mum, I endeavour to contribute to my daughter’s schooling whenever possible and have assisted in head lice checks, ICE programs and reading in the classroom.  I endeavour to use my  experience as an educator and parent to benefit all stakeholders including students, parents and teachers at MPRPS&K.

Parents and Friends Meeting

Thank you to all of our parents that came along in person or zoomed into our meeting today. It is so encouraging to have so many people tuning in.

Leonie our Coordinator does an amazing job and many hands make light work.

Please feel welcome to attend - there is only two meetings a term, on a Friday morning.

Thank you to all the parents reps that came along too.

NAPLAN

Naplan is finished for the year. Students and teachers have done very well to work through the assessments. We know these are on one day at a point in time for students and do not always reflect the level of achievement they may obtain in other learning tasks at school.

Don't forget our Colour and Slime Run 4 Fun

Get your Colour on! MPRPS is hosting a Colour Splatacular Run 4 Fun on Friday the 19th of April 2024!

Please make sure you register and start fund raising, ready for our event to be held on the first Friday in Term 2 - Friday April 19th.

We are so excited for the Splatacular!
