Principal's News Flash
Corinne Pupillo
Dear parents, carers and friends of the school community,
Welcome back, everyone! I hope that our families have enjoyed the school holidays and spending time with family and friends.
I would like to acknowledge and thank all of those who are diligently working behind the scenes to provide the rich educational experience our students deserve. I would also like to make a special mention of the teaching teams who have been completing formative and summative assessments which inform your child's Personalised Learning Support Plan which was sent home to parents and carers at the end of the last term.
The school was a hive of activity in regards to buidling and maintence works and it's exciting times for us as we have just been infomed that we have been succesful in gaining a Schools Upgrade Fund (Round 2) for $884,295.00. The project will include upgrading 3 playground surfaces and replacing cyclyone wire perimeter fencing.
Denise Clarke, Capital Works Manager has been hosting school tours of the The Yaluk Building and it's been wonderful to see how students have started to interact with the space and their excitement is really contagious. We are patiently waiting for new furniture so that students in rooms 25, 26, 27, secondary visual arts and music can move in.
Restorative Practices 2.0 update
In 2022 our school commenced a partnership with Real Schools and we have seen positive shifts in implementing Restorative Practices 2.0. Restorative Proactives builds a strong relational culture and Real Schools provides the tools and processes that help our teachers navigate conflict and help fix and harm that may have occured.
The three lenses we use are:
- Language
- Mindset
- Culture
We are embedding emotional vocabulary, check-in circuls and response circles in our day to day practices and encourage you to watch the video link below, where our Expert Facilitator, Sheila Bollard explains Restorative Practice 2.0 and will continue to share some of Sheilas expertise thtoughtout the partnership.
What are Restorative Practices?
Hume - Merri-bek Conference 18 & 19 April
The Principal Class Team attended the annual Hume - Merri-bek conference held in Cape Schanck .
The amazing program included some really engaging connect that supports school leaders to lead in very complex times. We engaged in a number of sessions and workshops that were designed to understand some of the ways schools are adapting and changing to meet some of the many global crisis that affect our communities and the banning of mobile phones in school remains a key priority for schools.
The PCT are grateful for the opportunity to step away from the school to attend such important opportunities. Thank you to those leaders who supported the school in our absence.

Unwell Students
Each morning when students are getting ready for school, I ask that you be mindful of how your child is presenting. If they/he/she is feeling/looking/acting unusual or is complaining of being unwell please take them to the doctor. Minimising the cross-infection will assist in reducing the risk of spreading bugs and viruses.
All student absences can be made through the dedicated student absence notification number. Text the student's name, room number and reason for absence.
Make sure you have the student absence notification number saved in your contacts:
